A game for children between the age of 8 - 12 which explores the world of interactive childrens books from around the turn of the century. Our approach was to combine the traditional illustration style of Lothar Meggendorfer with contemporary assets, weaving a storyline that combines the old and the new.
Below you can see an in-game video until the publication of the game by the museum4punk0 project.

To combine traditional and contemporary elements, we came up with a story featuring a number of friendly robots, who maintain, repair and protect our books from a variety of evil paper bugs.
Guided by a bunch of friendly bookworms they have to make their way through labyrinths, reinstall the books mechanics and use the in book characters to fence off a variety of pests.
In order to convey the playful and the technical, we developed a concept consisting of different game mechanics. Each world is split into an adventure, puzzle and action part. That way the gaming experience reflects as much of the tactile physics and open world possibilities the real life books have to offer.
