For the magnificent «Music, Makers and Machines» project realized by Google Arts & Culture, which is about the history of electronic music, Studio Jester Blank digitized the original vault door of Club Tresor, formerly Kaufhaus Wertheim.
The door has a total weight of almost 4 tons and is the private property of Dimitri Hegemann, the founder of Tresor Club Records and the visionary behind Club Tresor itself, which was founded in 1991.
Inside a Kreuzberg Locksmith's workshop the vault door went through an extensive, about 100 manhours long, restauration process during which Studio Jester Blank set out to create a key visual for the Humboldt Forum Highlights campaign.
The original exhibit will be on display in the «Berlin Global Exhibition» inside the new City Palace. The exhibition is produced by Kulturprojekte Berlin and curated by a team led by Paul Spies, Director of the Stadtmuseum Berlin Foundation.
